“2047 is too late to connect us to jobs, quality health care and retail and entertainment destinations such as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, The Beverly Center, The Sunset Strip and Universal City. The West Hollywood Advocates for Metro (WHAM) urges Metro to accelerate the Northern Extension of the Crenshaw Line.
WHAM and the All on Board Coalition request that the Metro Board approve a motion in August 2016 to:
(1) Commit an additional $180 million to the Northern Extension of the Crenshaw/LAX Line, for system connectivity, in the ballot measure expenditure plan;
(2) Budget funds in FY17/18 to complete all environmental and engineering studies for the Northern Extension by 2020, including a study on the projected impact of the project on the entire Metro network; and
(3) Codify project acceleration language in Metro’s Implementation Guidelines for the ballot measure in October 2016.
